White Gravy
Ingredients for 1 serving(s):
- 123 grams unsalted butter
- 73 grams all-purpose flour
- 1000 grams whole milk
- 12.7 grams salt
- 6.6 grams pepper
Instructions:
Melt the butter in a medium pot over medium heat. Ensure the pot is of a size sufficient to hold all of the gravy ingredients, allowing for easy whisking and combining.
Add the flour to the melted butter, whisking constantly to ensure the mixture becomes smooth and free of lumps.
Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure it's well incorporated with the butter and flour mixture. Add the salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a low boil, then reduce the heat to maintain a simmer. Continue simmering until the sauce thickens to your liking. If a thinner consistency is preferred, gradually add more milk until the desired consistency is achieved.
