Grilled: Burgers

Instructions:

  1. Optional: Prepare the Burger Butter according to the recipe. Once it's ready, set it aside while you begin working on the burger recipe.

  2. Begin by placing the pre-weighed ground beef in a large bowl. Evenly sprinkle the prepared dry seasonings over the beef. Next, pour in the Worcestershire and A1 sauce. Mix everything thoroughly to ensure the marinade is well incorporated into the beef, achieving a uniform flavor throughout.

    • 1 serving = 2 burgers. Patty the burgers into 113g (0.25lb) patties.

  3. Form the seasoned ground beef into patties, each weighing 113 grams (0.25 pounds). This size is ideal for ensuring that each burger cooks evenly and fits well on most buns.

  4. Grate the sharp cheddar cheese and prepare your desired burger toppings, such as slicing tomatoes, lettuce, and onions, or opening a jar of pickles. Having these ready ahead of time will streamline the assembly process once the burgers are off the grill.

  5. Heat the grill to high. Once hot, place the burgers on the grill. To achieve defined grill marks and ensure the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness (ideally medium to medium-well), flip them only once during cooking. This technique helps to retain the juices and flavor inside the burgers.

  6. After the burgers have reached the desired level of doneness, remove them from the grill and immediately top with the burger butter, followed by freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese. The residual heat from the burgers will melt the cheese slightly. Allow the burgers to rest for about 5 minutes before serving; this resting period helps the juices redistribute throughout the burger, making it more flavorful and moist.
